About Red Box

Red Box first hit the headlines in the 1980s with a world-flecked sound that brought Tribal Pop to the airwaves well before the term ‘World Music’ was coined.

Their ambitious and eclectic debut album ‘The Circle and the Square’ (1986) put them firmly on the musical map, delivering two global hits in ‘Lean on Me (ah-li-ayo)’ and ‘For America’, records that topped charts around the world and remain radio favourites.

In the intervening years ‘The Circle and the Square’ and second album ‘Motive’ attained a cult status.

Red Box returned with their third, and critically acclaimed album ‘Plenty’ in 2011.

The band toured extensively in 2010-15 and in 2016 began work on their fourth album in London: ‘Chase The Setting Sun’ is scheduled for release later in 2018.
